In about 1980 I damaged my spine -which resulted in weakness to my right side...At that time I was paying soc sec and  fica so i would have ..medicare as well as a small pension-..barely enough.. By inflating the dollar using printers to create billions more.. which devalues the dollar for people holding dollars i,e. Retirees or the chinese..  I had no medical coverage-so this major injury languised for over 20 yrs, until i turned 62 and had it fixed..  Now of course --I have to deal with a 20% co-pay on a fixed income..  If i had  insurance,,I would have Fixed IT!..  When u sign up you have immediate coverage..  Add up Your fica payments for 2012 Div by 12..  If your proposed coverage should be less.. I think Fica will be changed :  premiums (chosen by You will be deducted) from fica... As well as fica medicare premiums  for retirementI believe your total fica payments...  Hopefully, you,ll arrive at your chosen retiremt date--healthy n ready to play with your own interests... Check and make sure you understand the differance between deductibles, premiums and fica (retirement.. All these impacts will have to be managed by You..
